One summer trend that may already be in your closet is, the white blazer. Celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Miranda Kerr and Whitney Port were recently seen rocking a white blazer as a summer outfit. The good news about this trend is you can also wear it to the office. Nope, don’t think matching white suit and pencil skirt or white suit with tailored pants, we’re talking more fun, printed and classic summer work outfits with a white blazer. Now to the looks!
White Blazer with Floral
If you think floral should only be limited to summer sundresses and casual maxi skirts, it’s time to move on. You can actually wear the floral trend to work and one way to do it is by teaming a floral printed skirt with a white tank top and a white blazer. If you feel that skater skirt is a bit kiddie for you, floral pencil skirt is your alternative. The white blazer serves one important purpose for this look – to tone down the florals. Take one color from the print as the color of your shoes, tuck in your tank, and add a complementary colored bag.
White Blazer with Stripes and Brights
Many style experts advise that as you age, you should tone down your colors to neutrals. But I beg to disagree. Bright colors don’t only add spice to your look, they also make you look happy and many years younger. Bright colors know no age so there´s no reason to stir away from them once you hit forty. That said, take three trends at a time - stripes, bright skirt (tangerine, mustard or mint green) and white blazer. White/blue or white/black stripes would be a wonderful peek under your blazer. Go for nude shoes to not overwhelm the look.
White Blazer for Classic Combo
Black and white is a classic which will never go out of trend. But to keep the look fresh and of the moment with summer feel, go for black cropped pants, straight cut or slim leg, to pair with a black tank top (preferably with lace details) and throw over a white blazer. If mid-shin crop isn’t allowed at your office, opt for a crop that hits before the ankle. Add black pumps, a black bag, and another summer trend – boho necklace – to polish the outfit.
Keeping up with the trend doesn’t have to empty your bank. Many summer trends are already in your closet and white blazer is one of them. Simply dress it up by incorporating summer prints and colors and add surprising accessory such as boho-inspired necklace or bracelets for up-to-date summer work outfits.
What do you think of this trend? How would you wear the white blazer to work this summer?
