Upper eyelid drooping is a common problem. With age the upper eyelids begin to sag and can make your eyes look hooded and tired.
There are several nonsurgical options and, of course, the surgical option – an upper eyelid blepharoplasty. Treatment options are determine by the amount of hooding you have.
For mild eyelid sagging, either eyelid Thermage or eyelid Fraxel will provide great results. Special small tips are used to treat this problem. Thermage generally offers a little more tightening, while Fraxel is slightly better for treating those fine, crepey lines. These options are best for those aged 30-50 years old.
For moderate hooding, a fractionated CO2 (like the DEKA DOT) is best. Depending on how severe your hooding is, 1-3 laser treatments will be needed.
For severe hooding, the CO2 can be used, but best results are usually achieved with surgery. If you decide to go the CO2 laser route, you will most likely need at least 3 treatments to tighten and lift your sagging upper eyelids.
